Ed Young Ed Young, who is a pastor I’ve seen on television several times over the years, issued a challenge to married couples, during one of his recent sermons, stating they should have sex for seven days to spark the romance in their lives. Who knew this would be so controversial, as it grabbed the attention of the mainstream press nationwide. It was written about in hundreds of publications. I don’t understand what all the fuss is about regarding his statements. God created sex. It is normal. He made it as a means for married couples to get closer to each other and also for reproduction. The preacher was passing on God’s message from the Bible. However, it shows the inaccurate view the mainstream press has about Christians. 7 Days Of Sex Challenge 7 straight days of sex. That was the challenge Pastor Ed Young issued to all of the married couples at his Grapevine church. Too taboo, or right on time? Whatever your opinion, this conversation and tonight's story is strictly for adults. KLTV 7's Layron Livingston sat down with some local pastors to see if the message could make its way to your church's pulpit. "Everybody's whining about the economy and about the world....let's move from whining to whoopee!" The message caught some members of Fellowship Church by surprise, and its perking the ears of East Texans. "Between a married man and a married woman...the more, the better." ... Taliban Kills Defenseless Christian Woman
The Taliban once again reminded the western world what it's about when two of its terrorists murdered a Christian woman by gunning her down.
They will never get sympathy from the world engaging in such unprovoked acts of violence. It only reaffirms world governments' views they are a threat. First picture of British woman aid worker gunned down by Taliban motorbike killers 'for spreading Christianity' A British woman aid worker was shot dead in Afghanistan today by Islamic extremists because she was a Christian. Two men rode up to Gayle Williams, 34, on a motorcycle and one opened fire at close range, hitting her seven times in the head and legs. Ms Williams, from London, had been walking to work in an affluent suburb of the capital Kabul and was said to have died before the police reached the scene. The attack was seen by children going to school.... Ms Williams was a volunteer with the British-registered-Christian charity Serve Afghanistan, which works with the disabled. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the shooting, saying on its website: 'Our people carried out this attack. The reason that we killed her was because she was spreading Christianity.' PUBLIC FEEDBACK: Oh, you brave, brave warriors, to take on a simple unarmed female aid worker with a gun like that. How proud you must feel, it only took two of you, armed with a gun, to kill a woman... and then you ran away, like scared little animals, to hide. How brave. How fierce. How mighty. What great soldiers you are. You are ridiculous little men. Your ancestors look upon you with shame and horror, so low have you fallen... - Maggie, Strood, Kent, 20/10/2008 16:46 The Taliban are fanatical lunatics. If they were in schools here, teachers would know that they needed help because of their pathetic, immature stupidity. Why does everyone still try to make sense out of them? It's impossible. - Anthony Reid, Stockport UK, 20/10/2008 16:41 I am sick and tired of these animals getting away with murder like this. Who do they think they are? - Diane, Bradford, West Yorkshire, 20/10/2008 16:40 Boy Sent Home From School For Wearing Jesus Costume On Halloween
School boy Alex Woinski dressed as Jesus A young boy, Alex Woinski, was singled out for discrimination. He went to school on Halloween dressed as Jesus and was sent home, while other students were allowed to wear their costumes and remain in class. That was a blatant, un-constitutional double standard that is positively offensive. And some wonder why Christians so vigilantly aim to protect our rights in society, from onslaughts and abuses by liberals and atheists, who don’t practice what they preach in the way of tolerance. They love to throw that word around, then in the same breath try to destroy Christians’ rights. Today, I saw a teenager walking home from school dressed in a ghoulish devil
costume. I looked on and thought, “That little idiot.”
God gave everyone free will, that was the teenager's choice of wardrobe and it was lawful, albeit ugly.
Boy Sent Home From School For Dressing As Jesus Eighth Grader Told His Halloween Costume Was Offensive, Distracting PARAMUS, N.J. (CBS) ― A Paramus middle school student was sent home Friday after he came to school dressed up as Jesus for Halloween. For a few hours, Alex Woinski was the messiah of West Brook Middle School, but like the real Jesus, Woinski was condemned, so to speak. "Sort of like a new remake of what supposedly happened," Woinski told CBS 2. Decked out in sandals, a robe, fake beard and thorns, the 13-year-old joined 500 other students at his school's Halloween celebration, and on this day, he was the chosen one - to go home. "It was offensive to some students," Woinski said, when asked what school officials told him the reason for being sent home was. Woinski says he wore the costume because friends say his long hair makes him a Jesus lookalike, and were not offended by his costume. The school says the costume was a disruption and denies its religious nature had anything to do with it. "I don't think I overreacted," Principal Joan Broe told CBS 2. Broe said too many students were drawn to the costume, and that was reason enough... Woinski has developed an interest in religion. His mother is Catholic and his father is Jewish. He recently celebrated his Bar Mitzvah and his also studying Bible scripture...
Archaeologists Find
Archaeologists in Israel state they have found the historic site where David slew the giant Goliath: Archaeologists report finding oldest Hebrew text Thu Oct 30, 2008 3:06pm EDT - JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Archaeologists in Israel said on Thursday they had unearthed the oldest Hebrew text ever found, while excavating a fortress city overlooking a valley where the Bible says David slew Goliath.
"Fireproof" movie poster Former "Growing Pains" star turned Christian minister, Kirk Cameron, is the lead actor in the new film "Fireproof."
80's show "Growing Pains" It is getting rave reviews and enjoying good ticket sales, especially for a movie that opened in under 900 theatres.
Kirk in the 80's Cameron's story is an inspiring one. He was once an atheist, but is now serving God. I think that's wonderful.
Kirk Cameron Sometimes Christians may get discouraged when a loved one professes atheism, but God can bless and change any heart, so keep praying for them.
Tensions between Christians and Hindus in India turned violent this week. 3,000 Christians are now living in government relief camps as a safety measure. I would like to urge calm and cooperativeness in resolving this crisis, as bloodshed is not the answer: Faiths Clash, Displacing Thousands in East India NEW DELHI — At least 3,000 people, most of them Christians, are living in government-run relief camps after days of Christian-versus-Hindu violence in eastern India, government officials said. Christians may form militia for self-defence: Church leader NEW DELHI: Looking low and dejected, a Church leader from Orissa warned Sunday that if the government failed to stop attacks on his community, Christians in the state will be forced to raise a militia for self-defence. "All that the governments have been doing, both in the state and at the centre, is paint an illusion. Beautiful, but hollow words is all they have to offer. It's been eight days and the violence continues. If such a situation persists, we will have no option but to form our own 'Suraksha Vahini'," the priest told IANS on condition of anonymity. http://economictimes.indiatimes.com
I read an interesting article from the Washington Times, written to Steven Spielberg, regarding Hollywood’s prejudices. It served as another reminder, that no matter how much Hollywood hypocritically preaches tolerance, especially for gays, it does not practice it when it comes to others. Christians, blacks and immigrants are often treated very badly by the industry and portrayed in very degrading and offensive ways in Hollywood movies and television shows. It's nothing to be proud of, as it sends a terrible message to the nation and the watching world. The attitude among quite a few in Hollywood is that of, when they hear you're a Christian, they will form a cabal to destroy you and your company. They will call their friends and affiliates at media outlets to blacken your name with the public. They will blacklist you from services available to others, via calling in favors at business establishments. They will threaten others that if they deal with you, they cannot deal with them. They will do their level best to run you out of town, all whilst operating outside the law in achieving this ghastly goal. They are going to go too far with it one day and create a self-made catastrophe that Hollywood will forever be associated with in a very negative light.
Op-ed To Steven Spielberg appeared in the Washington Times The bias that exists in Hollywood is so terrible that it's not concealable. That's how brazenly far it goes. The ironic thing is, if the same were done to them, they’d be devastated and demand recompense. The unevenness and downright hatred Hollywood exhibits against the aforementioned groups is appalling and paints an ugly picture of a town that prides itself on so-called tolerance, when it is anything but tolerant. Then there is that nasty arrogance in blacklisting those for being, saying or doing something they do not like. It’s pretty sick to think any industry would brag about the unlawful, discriminatory phrase, “You’ll never work in this town again” as if it is something good or admirable. It doesn’t show power. It demonstrates ignorance, barbarism and an abusive mentality. The mere fact that anyone would seek to deprive another of gainful employment, which is essentially putting food on one’s family’s table, is shameful and un-American. Yet, Hollywood routinely
The lengths some go to in Hollywood to destroy others is not only illegal (see the Anthony Pellicano case), but un-constitutional. Inmates running the asylum indeed BREITBART: Mr. Spielberg, tear down this wall But in this land of superficiality and augmented assets, the inconvenient truth is that, in Hollywood, absolute conformity to the Democratic Party is a well-constructed facade. The environment is not so much unfavorable to the Grand Old Party as it is utterly totalitarian. There's simply no lifestyle choice that receives a worse response at dinner parties. Convicted murderer? Has anyone optioned the rights to your story? Avowed Marxist? Viva la revolucion! Scientologist? Do you take Visa or Mastercard? Syphilitic drug abuser? Let's talk! Conservative? You should go. Only proclaiming one's self a practicing Christian is met with greater disdain - making Christian Republicans the gold standard in Hollywood pariah status. Fortunately, their Savior - that dude from Mel Gibson's highest-grossing blockbuster that was shunned by the major studios - wrote the script on how to live with an unpopular point of view. When asked recently what it was like to work with "Republican" Clint Eastwood (the question speaks volumes), Angelina Jolie, a "surge" supporter who also wants to produce Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged," surprised Entertainment Weekly with her answer: "Actually, we don't disagree as much as you'd think. I think people assume I'm a Democrat. But I'm registered independent and I'm still undecided. So I'm looking at McCain as well as Obama." You hedge, girl. But Los Angeles is a one-company town. And because of bullying (or what Democrats would call blacklisting or "political discrimination," if the shoe were on the other foot), Hollywood has become a one-party town. History will show this dynamic hurt both the creative and the political processes. Pelosi's Fairness Doctrine Taking A Beating From The Press And Public
Nancy Pelosi House Speaker Nancy Pelosi may want to rethink her bid regarding reviving the Fairness Doctrine. Conservatives and Liberals are strongly opposed to it, as it would greatly censor free speech. There is serious bipartisan opposition to reviving this antiquated legislation. It would also force religious broadcasters to violate their religion in airing contrasting points of view.
Airing a contrasting view point should be elective not mandatory. Not only will it offend many, it shall run up massive staff/research and legal fees to undertake and defend in the event someone deems a broadcaster violated the Fairness Doctrine.
America was always about Free Speech. The Fairness Doctrine is censorship that would force people to say and air things they do not want to. That's about as un-American as it gets. If Congress wants a contrasting opinion, here it goes, both the left and the right hate it: ACLJ: MORE THAN 160,000 AMERICANS URGE U.S. HOUSE TO CONSIDER BROADCASTER FREEDOM ACT TO PREVENT RETURN OF FAIRNESS DOCTRINE Washington, DC (CR Newswire) The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), focusing on constitutional law, said today it has received more than 160,000 signatures on a petition urging the U.S. House of Representatives to consider the Broadcaster Freedom Act, a measure that would prohibit the return of the Fairness Doctrine. The ACLJ says it has received an additional 27,000 signatures in the last two weeks alone and the surge of support comes at a time when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told reporters this week that she wants to see the Fairness Doctrine return and opposes efforts to free-up the Broadcaster Freedom Act so it will go to the House floor for a vote. Liberals assault First Amendment How refreshing to see Christians exercising their right to demonstrate. We are told in II Chronicles 7:14 that “if we call upon God, humble ourselves, pray, seek Him and turn from our wicked ways, He will hear from heaven, forgive our sins and heal our land.” He can do it and would do it without politics, forming a committee or amending and amendment. He will — but he expects us to do our part. Petition Circulates Opposing Fairness Doctrine WASHINGTON -- June 26, 2008: Amid reports this week that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) won't allow Rep. Mike Pence's Broadcaster Freedom Act -- which would block the return of the long-dead Fairness Doctrine -- to come to the House floor this year, the Media Research Council is circulating an online petition in support of Pence's bill. Conservatives Criticize Pelosi's Support of 'Fairness Doctrine' June 26, 2008 - (CNSNews.com) - Conservative leaders on Wednesday sharply criticized House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for endorsing a revival of the "Fairness Doctrine," which was described as "nothing short of an attack on free speech." House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) called the measure, which was enforced from 1949 to 1987, "outdated" and "a 1940s law that would take away radio and television licenses if broadcasters express their opinions." Time to Bury the Fairness Doctrine Once and For All The announcement from Speaker Nancy Pelosi that she wants to revive the so-called “Fairness Doctrine” is big news -- but it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. Spokesman: Obama opposes the Fairness Doctrine FISA, NAFTA, the death penalty decision, now this. How many lefty hearts is Barry O planning to break to win an election? Nancy Pelosi and her Unfairness Doctrine Forget about worrying about getting your gas prices down. Forget about worrying about your health care. Forget about worrying about the war in Iraq. Forget about raising the minimum wage. Forget about all of the promises that the Democrats made in 2006 when they took back Washington. The real issue is free speech and censoring the voices in America. Pelosi to First Amendment: Drop Dead [Kevin D. Williamson] John Gizzi put the "Fairness Doctrine" question to Madame Speaker: The speaker of the House made it clear to me and more than forty of my colleagues yesterday that a bill by Rep. Mike Pence (R.-Ind.) to outlaw the “Fairness Doctrine” (which a liberal administration could use to silence Rush Limbaugh, other radio talk show hosts and much of the new alternative media) would not see the light of day in Congress during ’08. It's not for nothing that the push to revive the woefully misnamed "Fairness Doctrine" is known as the "Hush Rush" movement. From Bill Clinton trying to blame Rush for the Oklahoma City bombing to current calls to stifle controversial voices in broadcast, Democrats have made it clear that they fear Rush Limbaugh more than cancer. they keep calling for boycotts, he keeps buying new airplanes — but this is no joke: The Left is serious about censorship, and they're going to have to be fought. http://media.nationalreview.com The enemies of free speech are on the march (Part 11) The Pelosi politburo and the "hush Rush" muzzling doctrine June 30, 2008 - It is now a matter of record. The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the United States of America is against your right to free speech as guaranteed in the First Amendment to the Constitution of that same United States of America. She wants to shut you up in the public square if you disagree with her. That's how she interprets her privilege in attaining high office. The World's First Church
Archaeologists have discovered the ancient ruins of what they believe is the world's first church: Jordan archaeologists unearth 'world's first church' Jun 10 09:27 AM US/Eastern - Archaeologists in Jordan have unearthed what they claim is the world's first church, dating back almost 2,000 years, The Jordan Times reported on Tuesday. "We have uncovered what we believe to be the first church in the world, dating from 33 AD to 70 AD," the head of Jordan's Rihab Centre for Archaeological Studies, Abdul Qader al-Husan, said. He said it was uncovered under Saint Georgeous Church, which itself dates back to 230 AD, in Rihab in northern Jordan near the Syrian border. "We have evidence to believe this church sheltered the early Christians -- the 70 disciples of Jesus Christ," Husan said. These Christians, who are described in a mosaic as "the 70 beloved by God and Divine," are said to have fled persecution in Jerusalem and founded churches in northern Jordan, Husan added...
