Heterosexual Demoted For Stance On Gay Marriage
A Christian woman,
She should not have been demoted, as people of other religions gain exemptions in other such cases of conflict. I commend her stance. Registrar demoted to receptionist because she refused to marry gay couples Last updated at 9:52 PM on 20th June 2009 - Theresa Davies refused to marry gay couples and was demoted to the post of receptionist A Christian registrar was demoted to receptionist because she refuses to preside over gay ‘marriages’ – and last night claimed she is facing dismissal. Theresa Davies, 58, said she is being forced out of the £26,000-a-year job she loves because of her religious objections to same-sex civil partnerships. The case parallels that of 48-year-old Lillian Ladele, the registrar who won a similar battle last year against Miss Davies’s employers – Islington Council in North London. Miss Davies has worked for the council for 18 years and was a friend and colleague of Miss Ladele in the same department. She will send a strongly worded letter to all members of the House of Lords tomorrow, highlighting her plight and complaining of a ‘militant political-sexual libertarian lobby’ at the council. Miss Davies told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Britain is supposed to be a nation that respects freedom of conscience. But my conscience is not being respected. If Islington Council believes in dignity for all, why can’t my beliefs be accommodated and why is my dignity not being respected? ‘I have nothing against homosexuals. My colleagues in the office will tell
you that – and At one point Miss Davies, who is not married, rose to deputy superintendent registrar – third in the hierarchy in the 16-strong department – although she then chose to return to the role of deputy registrar... With the backing of the Christian Legal Centre, Miss Davies is now launching a grievance procedure against the council, arguing that she has been the victim of discrimination on the grounds of her religious beliefs. She said: ‘Doctors can opt out of performing abortions on conscience grounds so why can’t I opt out of civil partnerships?’ When the Government introduced new laws to criminalise the stirring up of hatred against gays and lesbians last year, Lord Waddington forced through an amendment to safeguard people’s rights to make reasonable comments about homosexuals. But the Government is now trying to remove this amendment... A quarry has been unearthed in Israel, dating back to the time of Christ. The quarry contains Christian symbols etched in the wall. It is definitely an exciting discovery. Ancient Holy Land quarry uncovered, team says Sun Jun 21, 2009 3:15pm EDT - JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israeli archaeologists said on Sunday they had discovered the largest underground quarry in the Holy Land, dating back to the time of Jesus and containing Christian symbols etched into the walls. The 4,000-square-meter (yard) cavern, buried 10 meters beneath the desert near the ancient West Bank city of Jericho, was dug about 2,000 years ago and was in use for about half a millennium, archaeologist Adam Zertal said. The cave's main hall, about three meters tall, is supported by some 20 stone pillars and has a variety of symbols etched into the walls, including crosses dating back to about AD 350 and Roman legionary emblems... Gay Marriage Initiatives Defeated
This month, attempts at legalizing gay marriage were defeated in the American states of California, Nevada and New Hampshire. It is not that one intends to be cruel to gays with these initiatives, but based on religious reasons, I will never support gay marriage and many others share my view. I shall not go on a witch hunt, nor will I attempt to destroy or harass gays, as many homosexuals in Hollywood routinely do to innocent heterosexual Christians, who vote and voice our opinions according to our faith. Gays in Hollywood, using their press connections, are pushing the most for gay marriage on a national level. They use their industry connects and money, sometimes even resorting to threats, in an attempt to force the legalization of gay marriage. Quite a few gays have gone to terrible extremes, including issuing death
threats and harming others, which screams incivility and unkindness. Christians must peacefully and legally stand up for the faith in the face of these attacks.
A San Diego County official violated the rights of a pastor and his wife, in attempting to block a private Bible study they hold in their home. This blatant violation of their rights is illegal and unconstitutional. The county official referred to it as an "unofficial use" of land, due to 15 people attending the Bible study and demanded they get a permit, which will run them thousands of dollars to complete. That reasoning makes no sense. So, if the couple were to invite 15 of their
family members over for Thanksgiving dinner or have a small birthday party for a
relative and invite more than15 individuals, they would need a permit?
If need be, the pastor and his wife should defend their rights in court, as this was a blatant attack on Christianity. Do not tolerate it, because if you give them an inch, they will take a mile. Couple: County Trying To Stop Home Bible Studies POSTED: 5:31 pm PDT May 25, 2009 UPDATED: 7:43 am PDT May 28, 2009 SAN DIEGO -- A local pastor and his wife claim they were interrogated by a San Diego County official, who then threatened them with escalating fines if they continued to hold bible studies in their home, 10News reported. Attorney Dean Broyles of The Western Center For Law & Policy was shocked with what happened to the pastor and his wife. Broyles said, "The county asked, 'Do you have a regular meeting in your home?' She said, 'Yes.' 'Do you say amen?' 'Yes.' 'Do you pray?' 'Yes.' 'Do you say praise the Lord?' 'Yes.'" The county employee notified the couple that the small bible study, with an average of 15 people attending, was in violation of county regulations, according to Broyles. Broyles said a few days later the couple received a written warning that listed "unlawful use of land" and told them to "stop religious assembly or apply for a major use permit" -- a process that could cost tens of thousands of dollars... News of the case has rapidly spread across Internet blogs and has spurred various reactions. Broyles said his clients have asked to stay anonymous until they give the county a demand letter that states by enforcing this regulation the county is violating their First Amendment right to freely exercise their religion. Broyles also said this case has broader implications. "If the county thinks they can shut down groups of 10 or 15 Christians meeting in a home, what about people who meet regularly at home for poker night? What about people who meet for Tupperware parties? What about people who are meeting to watch baseball games on a regular basis and support the Chargers?" said Broyles. Broyles and his clients plant to give the county their demand letter this week. If the county refuses to release the pastor and his wife from obtaining the permit, they will consider a lawsuit in federal court. Carrie Prejean Does Pro-Heterosexual Marriage Ad Miss California Carrie Prejean Vicious blogger Perez Hilton got his pink underwear all in a knot at a new Carrie Prejean pro-heterosexual marriage ad, which is apart of a $1.5 billion dollar push by the National Organization For Marriage, to promote and preserve real, traditional marriage, between a man and a woman. The ad used a two second clip of Hilton abusively calling Prejean "a dumb bi*ch" for politely stating her personal beliefs regarding marriage, being heterosexual, in response to his out of place question at the Miss USA pageant. It is a political style ad, where one includes a snippet of a previous, unkind and inflammatory statement to show the person's true character. The clip falls under the Fair Use segment of the Copyright Act. However, embarrassed that his brutish, abusive actions are working against the homosexual community, Perez ran to YouTube with a copyright claim over the snippet. YouTube proceeded to take the ad down. Mario Lavandeira is Perez Hilton's birth name Typical, cowardly, Constitution abusing Hollywood loves to immorally have websites, videos and articles removed that disagree with their agenda. Said conduct is un-American and juvenile, as it violates others' right to free speech. Someone says or writes something they do not like and Hollywood sets out to silence the individual, illegally and unethically, might I add. However, the ad is still available at the National Organization For Marriage's website. Please pass the link around, much like Perez at a gay bathhouse: But keep it up, Hollywood. It is showing the world your depraved agenda and the fact gays in Hollywood are the most intolerant, vicious, underhanded and hateful people of all. You tell the world you are being deprived of equal rights, yet you try to destroy others' rights. There is nothing peaceful or legal about what you are trying to do, to abridge free speech and free thought. The nation and the world has duly noted it. Oh and another thing. Continue to let Perez be your mouthpiece. He will be the downfall of gay Hollywood. Ad spotted @ http://www.usnews.com RELATED ARTICLES Christians Remain Committed To The Faith P2
This is a follow up to last month's article Christians Remain Committed To The Faith, where I wrote about the inaccuracy of a poll on religion in America, as it had not included illegal immigrants living in the country. Two weeks later, the National Coalition of Latino Clergy and Christian Leaders revealed 3,400,000 of their church worshippers are undocumented immigrants living in the United States. There are millions more at other churches all across America, who've welcomed immigrants of all ethnicities and nationalities. They are all people too. Most illegal immigrants do not speak to the Census Bureau for fear of being deported and as a result are not counted. Once again, Christianity's numbers have gone up, not down. Hispanic groups call for Census boycott Some Hispanic advocacy groups are calling for illegal immigrants to boycott the 2010 Census unless immigration laws are changed. The move puts them at odds with leading immigrant rights advocates and creates another hurdle in the Census Bureau's quest to count everyone in the USA. The National Coalition of Latino Clergy & Christian Leaders, a group that says it represents 20,000 evangelical churches in 34 states, issued a statement this week urging undocumented immigrants not to fill out Census forms unless Congress passes "genuine immigration reform." Similar grass-roots campaigns are unfolding in Arizona and New Mexico to protest state and local crackdowns on illegal immigrants. Asking immigrants to be counted without giving them a chance to become legal residents counters church teachings, says the Rev. Miguel Rivera, president of the Latino religious coalition. When the Census counts growing numbers of Hispanics, the counts are often used to support crackdowns on illegal immigrants, he says. About 38% of the churches' 3.4 million members are undocumented, he says...

According to a recent study, people of different faiths in America are wavering in their beliefs. However, there are major discrepancies with the survey, as the numbers do not add up to account for America's entire population. The study states there is a small decline in Christians, due to an older generation of Baptists having passed away since the last survey. However, it does not take into account a new move of the faith. Christian pastors such as John Hagee, Joel Osteen, TD Jakes and Rod Parsley, among many others, preside over what is now referred to as “mega-churches.” These are churches all over the country, with tens of thousands of members in each location, totaling millions of people. Many of the members of these mega-churches, refer to themselves as Evangelicals, while others state they are nondenominational Christians. Additionally, America has many illegal immigrants, which the study does not include, the majority of whom are Hispanic Catholics. That’s right - Christians again. Hispanics are projected to be the majority in America by the year 2050. In light of this fact, it is not possible that the number of Christians has decreased. I would state it is the very opposite. In closing, one should always keep faith in Jesus. Trials and tribulations may come, but God will bring you through. As the Bible states, nothing can separate us from the love of God. ARTICLE: Related to that, the percentage of Baptists who are widowed is 12 percent, twice the national average. One demographic in which Baptists have far less than their share is among never-married singles -- who make up 13 percent of Baptists, but a full 25 percent of the general population. Baptists have gained members in the last 18 years, but comprise a smaller percentage of the population than they did when the study first compiled statistics. In 1990 there were 33.9 million Baptists, 19 percent of the population. In 2008 they numbered 36.1 million but declined to 15.8 percent of the population. Baptists are still less educated than the general population and most denominations, but the percentage of Baptists who are college graduates increased from 11 percent in 1990 to 16 percent in 2008. The survey defines "Baptist" in a broad sense, including Southern Baptist, American Baptist, Free Will, Missionary and African-American denominations. In general the survey found that the American population self-identifies as predominantly Christian, but Christianity's share of the population is decreasing. Ten percent fewer Americans self-identified as Christians in 2008 (76 percent) than in 1990 (86 percent.) ... Explicit Lyrics Encourages Teens To Have Sex

Researchers from the University of Pittsburgh surveyed 711 American students aged between 13 and 18-years-old... Lead author Dr Brian Primack from the University of Pittsburgh said exposure to sexual lyrics had a strong association with sexual activity. 'There certainly seems to be a link, but it is hard to say whether listening to music is directly contributing to having sex earlier,' he said. 'Parents should be talking to their children about sex and putting these sorts of lyrics in context.' The study will be published in the April issue of the American Journal of Preventive Medicine... The topic of gay adoptions has been in the news again. I do not believe it healthy for gay couples to adopt children. Homosexuality is an alternative lifestyle and as such, it brings emotional issues with it that should not be transferred to a child, being in that environment. This world is complicated enough, without growing up with that type of confusion in the home. Adoptive parents should be stable, loving people with traditional core values. It is not right to subject a child to anything else. The U.S. state of North Dakota has approved a ban on abortion. The decision was rendered through the state’s legislature. The driver from Southampton in Hampshire reacted with "shock" and "horror" last Sunday when he saw the slogan and walked out of his shift in protest, the BBC reported. "I was just about to board and there it was staring me in the face, my first reaction was shock horror," driver Ron Heather told BBC radio. "I felt that I could not drive that bus, I told my managers and they said they haven't got another one and I thought I better go home, so I did," he said.
