Metal Relic Revealing A Picture Of Jesus And Mary

October 31. 2011

A relic has been unearthed in Israel, revealing a portrait of Jesus and Mary on a small book. The find is quite remarkable and its survival after all this time just as great. A number of impressive archaeological relics supporting the Bible have been found in Israel and I hope it is a tradition that will continue.

Harold Camping Apologies For False Prophecies Regarding The Rapture

October 31. 2011

Harold Camping

Radio broadcaster, Harold Camping, has done the right thing, in apologizing for the false prophecies he twice issued this year, regarding the rapture and return of Jesus. It led to some making jokes about him in the mainstream press. Camping repeatedly prophesized what day the event would transpire and was wrong each time.

Compendius is of the view, one is not to do such things, as it is not in line with the integrity of the Bible. Camping openly went against the Bible, where it is stated no one knows the exact moment of Christ's return. Camping should refrain from making such prophecies in the future. The Bible indicates the way to know a true prophet is the things said prophet prophecies, not guesses, happens.

The main principles the Lord wants people to take from the Bible is living life to the fullest in a decent way, like each day is your last, becoming a better person and following in His ways, through placing one's faith in Jesus and following his example of integrity. He also wants people to change their unethical behavior.

Most would agree, the world would be a much better place if people were faithful to each other in marriage (not breaking each others' hearts), refrained from violence and abuse, told the truth and did not steal from others, depriving them of their property, to name a few.

Iranian Pastor Sentenced To Death For Being A Christian

September 30. 2011

 Youcef Nadarkhani

Iranian Christian pastor, Youcef Nadarkhani, has been sentenced to death, for being a preacher of the gospel living in Iran. Nadarkhani has been charged with apostasy by the Muslim state, who have been placed under a significant amount of world scrutiny for this decision, drawing the condemnation of a number of nations. Nadarkhani has been given the option of recanting his Christian faith or being hanged.

He has refused to renounce his faith and the Iranian government has not called off the execution. A person should be able to freely practice their faith without harm or retribution. Here's hoping the Iranian government will do the right thing, drop the charges and not execute pastor Nadarkhani. God bless you and your family, Youcef.

Polls: Christian Rick Perry Is Top Contender For U.S. Presidency

August 31. 2011

Rick Perry

Texas Governor, Rick Perry, who is a Christian, has become the top contender for the job of President of the United States in the 2012 election. Perry's had a very big summer, more than any other candidate, with voters vaulting him to the top of many presidential polls, in the lead up to the election. He has even surpassed incumbent, President Barack Obama, in all the major polls.

Perry has openly professed his faith in God. He called upon people to join him in prayer and fasting on August 8, 2011, in support of America, which is facing tough times, due Washington failing to spot the signs of an incoming financial crisis and allowing rich criminals to gouge the poor and middle class. The government could certainly use Jesus because Washington has lost its ever loving mind (in this article Washington = some in government, not the everyday people).

He has also pledged his support to Israel in stating, "I'm a big believer that this country was given to the people of Israel a long time ago, by God, and that's ordained." On August 13, 2011, Perry announced he is running for the post of President of the United States and has been dominating polls ever since. If the polls continue in the manner they have been and the public keeps coming out to supporting him at events, it could very well be President Perry.

Christianity And Race Relations

July 31. 2011

Christianity and race relations go hand in hand. God loves all races and as Christians we should have the same values. There is no room for racism in the faith. Christianity was built on the principles of love, hope and unity in Christ, regardless of color. When people focus on color, it is as a means to divide, when the love of God unites us in the faith.

People Sometimes Think Life Is Supposed To Be Easy

June 30. 2011

The Good Samaritan and the Wounded Man

Christians sometimes believe life is supposed to be easy and if it is not, we are doing something wrong, when that is not necessarily the case. Bad things happen to good people. It is in those times that we must proverbially fight in a peaceful manner, to stand up for our beliefs. God never said life would be easy. But He has promised to never leave or forsake you and help you through it.

In Support Of Christians In The Middle East

May 31. 2011

Gizah Pyramids In Egypt

Christians in the Middle East, have come under attack by some, not all, Muslims in the region, who are engaging in religious discrimination. The religious persecution in the Middle East is manifesting itself in the form of violence against Christians, which is completely unacceptable. People should have the right to practice their faith without fear of persecution or violence.

President Obama has pledged $3 billion dollars in U.S. taxpayer money to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, while attacks against Christians continue unabated. I for one do not want my tax money given to those that would harass, persecute and engage in violence against Christians. I am all for democracy in Egypt and celebrate with the nation in its victories, but the government must show fairness and tolerance for Egyptian Christians and Jews.

U.S. President Barack Obama

If U.S. tax dollars are to be given in such great number and during an unprecedented financial crisis in America, it should be to provide food, clothing and shelter to Egypt's poor. Not to an organization, the Muslim Brotherhood, who "supports terrorism" according to the FBI.

If the violence against Middle Eastern Christians does not desist, the West needs to reconsider the financial aide to offending governments and provide asylum to those being persecuted based on their religion with the possibility of death.

When Christianity Intersects With Politics

April 30, 2011

The White House

U.S. politicians continue to court the Christian vote for the upcoming 2012 presidential election. Christians should vote according to the faith and our morals. Just because a candidate says one thing, does not mean he or she will follow through. Look at their lives, track record and history of service. Have the kept the promises they've publicly made? Have they enacted legislation that goes against the values taught in the Bible? If so, they will not fight for what matters most to Christians.

The Christian Vote And The 2012 U.S. Elections

March 31, 2011

U.S. President Barack Obama

With potential U.S. presidential candidates already vying for the Christian vote, once again, it will certainly play a significant part in the 2012 elections. Christians, much like every other group in America, are tired of the state of the economy. Being launched into another war this month hasn’t been uplifting news either.

Compendius is of the belief, more issues that affect the nation, should be placed on the ballot as a national choice for the people to make, rather than it being a congressional or presidential matter. It would help to ease the state of discontentment many feel, at political choices made in Washington that are out of the people’s hands and end badly.

It is important for Christians to get out there and vote, as some in Washington are trying to ram through unsuitable legislation that offends Christians' moral sensibilities and more importantly the Bible. Make your voice heard at the polls and keep the faith. God bless you.

Obama Keeps Betraying The Church

February 28, 2011

Barack Obama

U.S. President, Barack Obama, has been betraying the church, via going back on a number of promises he made voters, such as not attempting to make gay marriage legal and lifting the ban on stem cell research (running gruesome experiments on baby embryos). Obama stated he is a Christian and claims "Jesus" as Savior, but after he got into office, he began openly going against the Bible, also known as the "Word of God."

The church played a major role in electing Obama in 2008, as one cannot become President of the United States without the Christian vote, due to America having a Christian majority. However, ever since Obama has taken office, he has spit on the church with decision after decision, from proclaiming America is not a Christian nation, to his latest backslidden act, of pushing for gay marriage, in a bid to repay his Hollywood campaign donors.

With each new betrayal of the Bible, Obama is giving more credence to public claims he is not a Christian and used it as a mean to get elected President. The church needs to wake up and get wise to what is happening, before all Christians hold dear is destroyed. The Lord said in the Bible "You shall know them by their deeds" which means one can tell a Christian by what he or she does, not by what he or she says.
